The 1,000 Guineas is one of the betting highlights of the flat racing season. Bookies have been offering antepost odds on the race since Ghanaati scored an upset win in the race in 2009. This year’s race has produced a short odds favourite in the form of Special Duty, however, as Rainbow View found in 2009, favourite status is no guarantee of a win or a place in the 1,000 Guineas.

1,000 Guineas Betting Tips & Trends

Odds: The antepost favourite for the 1,000 Guineas has won the race twice in the past five years. Upsets are not unusual in this race, and favourites that fail to win the race also tend not to place.
Jockey: No jockey has won the 1,000 Guineas more than once in the past five years..
Trainer: Barry Hills has produced two 1,000 Guineas in the past five years.
1,000 Guineas Tip: Laying the antepost favourite in this race is a decent long term strategy provided the favourite’s odds dip below 2/1.
